Martin Meader is a choral director, musician, writer and film producer.
Qualifications: M.A. (Creative Writing), Grad. Dip. (Film) B.A. (Lit), Cert. Music (Jazz) TEFL Cert.
Awards: Charlie & Moon – Finalist in Juvenile Fiction for Foreword Magazine (USA) Book of the Year; Mr. Zeezee – The Fred Shepisi Film House Award for Excellence in the Discpline of Filmmaking & Rochester Film Festival, New York, Honorable Mention.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Alphabeticus – a feature film based around the letters of the alphabet. Includes literacy games called SPELL and Alphabeticus Solitaire.
Conducting the 200-voice Born to Sing choirs in Perth, Western Australia.
PAST PROJECTS
FILM – In 1990, Martin Meader graduated as a directing student (with distinction) from the prestigious Swinburne Film and Television School, Melbourne, Australia. While at Swinburne, he discovered the story behind Paradise Road.
In 1997, Martin Co-Wrote and Co-Executive Produced the $25.6 million Fox Searchlight feature Paradise Road which starred Glenn Close, Cate Blanchett, Frances McDormand, Julianna Margulies and Jennifer Ehle.
MUSIC – Martin has worked extensively for the Perth International Arts Festival (PIAF) conducting mass choirs of up to 1,000 voices and the 200-voice ABC Born To Sing Choir. From 2008-2019, he has been the musical director of the Born To Sing choirs in Perth. In 2006, Martin initiated and conducted the 250-voice, Hurricane Choir which was made up of survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in USA.
SINGING WORKSHOPS – Martin has led Singing Workshops for the community and corporate organisations in Australia, UK, Canada, USA and Indonesia.
