Born To Sing Choirs

About the Born To Sing Community

Martin Meader is the musical director of the Born to Sing Choirs in Joondalup, Rockingham, Guildford and Melville. The choirs (number 180 singers in total with an age range of between 12 & 80) welcome all non-singers, shower singers, park singers, car singers, air guitar singers and actual singers.

The choirs do not have any religious affiliations but sing songs from the heart that make you feel good, raise self-esteem and help you lose the blues. Singing helps you leave work behind and add quality to your week!

Since its inception in 2008, Born to Sing has raised over $160,000 to donate to various charitable causes such as survivors of bushfires, Cancer Council Relay For Life and the Red Cross Blood Bank. On Christmas Day 2011, Born to Sing performed at the Mission Australia Christmas lunch for 2,000 disadvantaged people.

The choir’s repertoire includes gospel, 60’s & 70’s, uplifting songs, short classical pieces and anything that moves the soul. We sing songs by The Beatles, ABBA, The Turtles, Van Morrison, The Carpenters, James taylor, Carole King, The Righteous Brothers, Manhattan Transfer, The Four Seasons, Adele, The Flying Pickets. Paul Simon, The Drifters and many others. Our repertoire includes: Ain’t Misbehavin’, All I Want Is You, Amazing Grace, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Chapel of Love, Lean On Me, Loves Me Like A Rock, Mamma Mia, Only You, Unchained Melody, Walk Like A Man and a whole range of songs that make you want to tap your feet and get up and dance.

We perform a number of concerts each year – see our list of events on our Calendar page.
