Martin Meader is a directing student of the prestigious Swinburne Film and Television School, Melbourne, Australia where he graduated with distinction in 1990. Since completing Swinburne, Martin has worked with Dean Semler (Academy Award winner for Dances With Wolves) and Andrew Lesnie (Academy Award for The Lord Of The Rings) on Kangaroo Kid.

Raising AUD$8.2 million in equity finance, Martin developed, Co-Wrote and Co-Executive Produced Paradise Road, a $25.6 million feature film produced by Fox Searchlight and Village Roadshow.Directed by Bruce Beresford, the film starred Glenn Close, Pauline Collins (Shirley Valentine) Frances Macdormand (Academy Award - Fargo) and Cate Blanchett.
Martin has also acted with the British actors Martin Shaw and Timothy West and in 1996 was one of the producers of Heartbreak House, the George Bernard Shaw play that starred the renowned British Actor, Donald Pleasance - famous for his roles in the Bond films.
  


Martin has two major children's projects in development, which are:

  • The Alphabeticus Project - to date, two products have been developed for this project which are Alphabeticus SPELL and
    Alphabeticus Solitaire.
  • The Adventures of Charlie & Moon - the talking book of this adventure is now available either as a download or can be sent as
    an E-book.

Martin is an accomplished musician with wide international experience in choral work, Martin has conducted singing workshops for the community and corporate organisations in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Margaret River, Geraldton), the UK (London, Chester, Birmingham), Canada (Ottawa and Vancouver) and the USA (Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, San Diego & the Berkshires).

Martin is the Musical Director of four community choirs (called SING FROM THE HEART) and a semi professional choir called - THE REAL SING, a polished and enthusiastic 26 voice ensemble with a wonderful record of performances at public concerts, music festivals and private functions.

   
In 2003, Martin’s choirs appeared in The Perth International Arts Festival in two concerts at the Perth Art Gallery and then as a combined 100 voice choir at the Festival's finale - singing Wagner to massed audiences on the Perth Esplanade with ‘Les Grooms’ a French Street Theatre Company.

In the 2004 Perth International Arts Festival, Martin conducted the 1,000 voice Journey Home Choir that sang pieces from the gospel, folk and classical repertoire - the highlight being the Largo from Dvorak's New World Symphony.

In 2005 Perth International Arts Festival, Martin once again conducted the 1,000 voice Journey Home Choir for Festival's opening concert - opera in the park. In conjunction with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Opera Company, the Journey Home Choir sang the finales from Mozart's Magic Flute to an audience of 50,000.
   

Martin also works for Millennium Kids (www.millenniumkids.com.au), an Australian children's environmental organisation. In 2003, Millennium Kids commissioned Martin to write a children's theatre piece about greenhouse gas entitled, The Horses Who Saved The World. This play is now touring schools in Australia. In July 2003, Martin travelled to Indonesia with Millennium Kids to make a television documentary about children and the environment. The documentary is entitled, Surabaya Dreaming.
